Mototec 1600W Dirt Electric Skateboard Review

The MotoTec 1600W Dirt Electric Skateboard Looks nothing like a skateboard. It’s built like a monster truck, with a wide wheelbase and enormous, off-road tyres. It’s extremely powerful and built to conquer the unbeaten path. Heck, it has “dirt” in its name. Let’s break down the MotoTec 1600 in the details below.

The MotoTec 1600 deck is made of compressed 12ply maple wood. It has custom trucks and spring bushings that enable the board to be as nimble as it is powerful. However because of all the heavy duty components, the MotoTec ends up weighing a monstrous 71 pounds! You really don’t wanna get caught outside with a dead battery.

This is obviously the most visible standout feature of this board. The deck sits on 10 inch, large tread tyres, wide enough to grip any surface including dirt, gravel or sand. In a nutshell, it’s perfect for any off-road terrain. Additionally because of the heavy duty wheels and trucks, the MotoTec can handle riders up to 260 pounds.

Battery & Speed
the MotoTec battery takes around 4-5 hours to fully charge and can get you about a 10 Mile riding range. Not too bad when compared to other boards. The MotoTec is undoubtedly one of the most powerful boards on the market. It’s powered by dual motors that output a hefty 800W each. All this power equates to the MotoTec also being one of the fastest boards on the market. It can go from 0-15Mph in 3.5 seconds and up to a max speed of 22 Mph, depending on the rider’s weight.

The remote looks like a little white spy pistol. The trigger is the throttle, which makes sense because you want a full handed grip on this remote as you crash through bumps and humps.

The Bottom Line
The MotoTec 1600’s sheer power makes it one of the most fun boards to ride. Put it down, jump on and let it rip! It definitely beats competition in the off-road category, but for the beginner or causal rider this board might be way too much to handle. Not in terms of fun, but for basic practicality. It’s insanely fun and durable, but its weight and speed may be intimidating for kids and newbs. Imagine bailing and then having to worry about being run over by a 71 pound board going 22Mph! Remember, safety first!
